Have you noticed how nobody seems to be responsible anymore? It’s never a person with a name, it’s always They. “They” are the unnamed, unknown strangers that seem to be everywhere, basically run things from the dirty little poorly lit cubbyholes that I imagine they inhabit somewhere, and are hardly ever mentioned. Who closed the highway? Answer: They did, the Department of Public Safety. Who said we can’t launch our boat at the ramp? Answer: They did, Parks and Wildlife. Who started the last war? Answer: They in Washington, I suppose. Who let the war go on for twenty plus years? Who said we had to wear masks, who came up with this piece of junk and had the temerity to call it “new and improved”? Who, who, who. Answer: They, They, They, the ubiquitous They.
