I’ve been reluctant to write about climate change, mainly because everyone else is doing so, but that’s not the same as change in general, so here’s (see essay) my two cents on that.

As far as climate change goes, I have people that call me from out of the country asking me to talk to NASA and tell them to hurry up with a solution, and know others that consider it a total hoax and talking about it a waste of time. Be that as it may, it seems to me that even if we knew what to do about it, we don’t have the consensus or tools to fix it: it would take everyone agreeing on the same goal and a worldwide commitment to do anything about it, such as cutting our dependence on hydrocarbons and I don’t see that ever happening. Actually, I see the opposite happening: the price is dropping and we are getting more dependent. For another take, you might read the last post on OPEC.
