Sometimes, it’s just good to tell a story. This one is about the time I flirted with gold mining. And I happened to be in a part of the world where a large amount of gold was found during the Spanish conquest, which lasted about 350 years (1520 – 1820 approx). Still and all, due to the rudimentary technology of the time, most of it was lost downstream. I admit it was a chancy venture, with a huge down side and a bigger upside, perhaps. The perhaps part of the deal was what eventually kept me from going into in full time.
