So, he was wrong. I’ve been wrong, now and again. We’ve all been wrong, maybe with the exception of Rolando, who is from Múzquiz and whose ancestry goes back to the days of El Cid Campeador.
The ‘he’ I’m talking about is Euclid. Yes, the geometry guy: I always thought his theory on parallel lines running parallel forever was a little too ambitious. Who can check that out? And how? Forever is a long way to go. But I discovered a way to prove him wrong, right from my easy chair. It all started out with reading a recipe on a cool new website (see below) and finding the makings for Pisco Sours. The trick, and here’s were genuine Americans sometimes go wrong, is not following the instructions to the letter. And I’m not talking about the ingredients or how to mix them, I’m talking about the part where it says “for four.” For Euclid’s theory to collapse, try it for two, instead. If you want to better understand curved geometry, try it for one—but first, cancel all your appointments.
Pisco Sour – for four.
6 oz Pisco.
4 teaspoons of sugar.
1 egg white.
2 or 3 ice cubes (tray size).
Juice from a big lemon.
Simple: put it in the blender and let her rip.
