I’ve always thought that writing should either educate, inform or entertain. If not, what’s the use? I had fun writing this one and I hope the readers will find some of the humor in it. Also, it reminded me of a close call that at the time was exciting but after a few years has become just another story. Fishing at night in the Gulf of Mexico, or, as in this case, in the intercostal waterway, is risky. I’ve had many close calls, sometimes I think way too many and more than just a few where in the water. Still, the most of them where high up in the Andes, either looking for gold of running a wood mill. How I survived the Andes, I’ll never know. I’ll have more to say on that later and perhaps they will show up in the form of a short story. We’ll see.
